* Design and Build * BREEAM Excellent Rating * Logistically Complex Site * Concrete Frame   Kirklees College, Huddersfield Centre   Location: Huddersfield Value: £48m Client: Kirklees College Duration: 140 weeks The new state-of-the-art college campus will provide over 20,000m2 of new accommodation. The new development will be nine storeys high at its tallest point and stepped to blend with the sloping site. The completed building will include a central atrium, learning resource centre, restaurant, bistro, refectory and classrooms, hair & beauty facilities and administration areas. The project also includes significant civil engineering works, and will open up the Huddersfield Narrow Canal which runs under the site to create a waterway which will also serve to provide cooling water for the college building. The project is aiming to achieve a BREEAM excellent rating. As part of its corporate social responsibility policy, Allenbuild will be employing a number of apprentices on the project, as will its supply chain. During the process Allenbuild will work closely with the college and Kirklees ‘Build’ to maximize training opportunities.   Project Images
