The Law Society, Chancery Lane,
London, WC2

Client: The Law Society
Architect: Bennett Interior Design
Quantity Surveyor: Davis Langdon & Everest
Value: £0.20m

Description

The works consisted of the remodelling and refurbishment of the main entrance, reception and ground floor administrative offices within the listed historic building.

All works were undertaken whilst the building was in full occupation, requiring detailed and close liaison with the occupants. This ensured that programming and phasing of areas of works were undertaken at times and ways to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to the Client.

The ground floor, administration offices and common areas were completely redecorated. A new structural glass and bronze lift was installed to comply with DDA requirements and the main granite entrance steps were reconfigured.

The work necessitated the maintenance of the existing M&E services throughout the contract period.

The external façade of the building was cleaned and localised stone and timberwork repairs were undertaken.
