Fairfield Road site is a very narrow parcel of land set between existing docklands light railway tracks to the northwest and a bus garage and residential area to the southeast.
The access to site is via Wick Lane only, which gives logistical challenges during the construction phase.
The scheme comprises 78 shared ownership and 68 affordable rented, totaling to 146 flats and one commercial unit.
The new buildings vary in height from 4-storey to 8-storey consisting of five 'towers' connected with 'link blocks'.
The structure is a reinforced concrete frame with post-tensioned slabs and is founded on raft foundations (where London Underground tunnels pass under the site) and remaining areas on piled foundations.
The building envelope is clad with combinations of five different colours of brickwork, metal cladding and render on blockwork.
External works include drainage, roads and associated landscaping.
