As part of the masterplan to regenerate the Pepys Estate in Lewisham, the site was identified together with London and Quadrant Housing Trust as an opportunity to provide much needed social housing while improving the adjacent park and rejuvenating the street frontage.
The site has remained undeveloped since it was bomb damaged during the Second World War and was partially absorbed into a neighbouring park.
The development of 37 new homes for sale and rent, which has been designed to meet the very highest Eco Homes rating, also includes a new multi-use community facility on site with sports changing rooms and family care facilities, part funded by the Sports Council and Sure Start.
